Upright or horizontal log splitter?

With HZC Power, you don't have to choose, because most of our powerful petrol log splitters can be used both horizontally and vertically. A simple tilting mechanism allows you to quickly switch between positions. Our 22 t log splitters even have a hydraulic position adjustment.

But what is the difference between a horizontal and an upright log splitter? With a horizontal log splitter, the logs are placed horizontally on the splitter. Some log splitters have a log lifter that lifts the piece of wood to make it easier to process. The splitting wedge then moves horizontally along the splitter and presses the split log onto the worktop. In contrast, with an upright log splitter, the splitting wedge moves vertically towards the ground, which means that the split log is already further down and does not need to be lifted.

Do you have any questions about our high-quality log splitters or our service? Please feel free to contact us. We will be happy to advise you to find the best log splitter for your purposes!

How much splitting force does my log splitter need?

The required splitting force depends on the hardness of the wood, the splitting length and the diameter of the material. For larger quantities of wood, such as those required for regular home heating, larger models in the range of 22-25 t splitting force are suitable. In professional operations, log splitters with over 30-40 t splitting pressure are often used.

Which hydraulic oil for log splitters?

Almost all of our machines require HLP 46 hydraulic oil. This is supplied during initial commissioning. After filling and switching on the engine, the splitter should be operated a few times to bleed the system and then be ready for operation.

What does a log splitter cost?

Our log splitters with petrol engine start at a price of €1,890, depending on the equipment, splitting force and maximum splitting length. The splitting lengths start at 53 cm and go up to 100 cm. It is important to consider your individual needs when making your selection. Our customer service team will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Accessories for log splitters

We offer a wide range of accessories and spare parts for our log splitters, including hydraulic pumps and external turntables. Particularly popular are splitting crosses that not only halve the wood, but also quarter it to achieve the right size for fireplaces.

Which log splitter is the best for my needs?

When selecting a log splitter, you should consider the required splitting force, splitting length, wood hardness and desired features such as a turntable or log lifter. Our log splitters are not road-legal, but are easy to transport on private property. If you have any questions or need advice, our customer service team will be happy to help.
